SANTA MARIA ISLAND
Ilhas de Valor S.A. is a public limited company, created on December 29, 2005 and based on the island of Santa Maria.
The archipelagic condition of the Azores requires that its development policies be oriented towards balanced and sustainable growth, both at an economic and territorial level. This reality requires specific government intervention measures to be taken in order to address so-called market failures, ensuring economic, social and territorial cohesion.
The regional development model points to the diversity and specificities of each island, the unity and development of the Azores reinforce our Autonomy.
That said, the company Ilhas de Valor aims to plan, promote and develop projects within the scope of tourist, commercial, industrial and other services on the islands of cohesion, namely Flores, Corvo, Graciosa, São Jorge and Santa Maria.
Currently, Ilhas de Valor owns the hotels in Flores and Graciosa, the Youth Hostel in Fajã do Santo Cristo, in São Jorge, the Golf Courses in Batalha, Furnas and Terceira, and the Santa Maria Business Incubator.
